Multicultural Sharing in St. Mary’s Montessori Children’s House

In the last month, we’ve had two parents visit the classroom and share some of their culture and traditions with us.

Erum Quereshi visited on March 22, to teach us about Pakistan Day.  She brought lots of delicious food and a learning board full of interesting facts. We learned where Pakistan is in the world, about their national flower, and their money, among other things.

On April 16, Mrs. Zalen taught us about Passover, and the traditional Seder meals used to celebrate the freedom of the Jewish people from slavery. We sampled matzo and parsley, two of the traditional foods.
