The Feast of the Ascension of he Lord, commonly referred to as Ascension Thursday, is a Holy Day of Obligation for Catholics. Based on the Acts of the Apostles, the Lord's ascension into heaven is celebrated in most dioceses forty days after Easter on the Thursday of the sixth week of Easter.
