This week let’s say hello to Mrs. Katie Bishop, our Religion (Montessori and grades 2-5); and STREAM Coordinator here at SMS.
Mrs. Bishop is in her 17th year of teaching: first in kindergarten, then fourth grade, and now Religion. She is a graduate of SUNY Fredonia for her undergrad degree in Childhood Education, and Buffalo State University for her masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Mrs Bishop is married with two kids, who both attend SMS. Her hobbies and talents include singing, cooking, and baking. If you’re an early riser to 9:00 am Sunday Mass, you just might catch her singing in the choir! Her favorite food is tacos, and
something she always tells her students is to adopt a growth mindset. We learn from our mistakes; they help to grow our brain!
Something else that’s amazing about Mrs. Bishop, is that she’s a graduate of SMS (1998), as was her mom, grandparents, and great grandfather! Mrs. Bishop shares that “St. Mary School is my home and I am truly blessed to be a part of this community!” We are blessed to have Mrs. Bishop teaching our young students about their faith, and guiding them to Jesus with her caring ways - thank you Mrs. Bishop!
