Temperance was our SMS character virtue for the month of September. St. Thomas Aquinas defined temperance as, " simply a disposition of the mind that sets bounds to the passions."
A number of our St. Mary's students were the definition of temperance this past month, and were honored for trying their best to live out the virtue today after school Mass.
8th grader Meghan Carver was also recognized for embodying the monthly Diocesan character virtue of "Welcoming". 8th grade students voted on who in their class was the most likely to be receptive of others. What a great character virtue to strive for at the beginning of a new school year!
