#TeacherSpotlightTuesday, Meet Miss Reeves

For this week's edition of #TeacherSpotlightTuesday, we're getting acquainted with Miss Kimberly Reeves in our Science Department. Miss Reeves teaches Science to grades 6-8, and Regents Biology. She is also the advisor for our newly established chapter of National Junior Honor Society and the co-advisor for the 8th grade class.

This will be Miss Reeves' 7th year teaching middle school science and her 4th year teaching Regents Biology. She also taught reading for 2 years throughout her career.

She received her Bachelor's in Elementary and Special Education (Birth-6) as well as her Master's in Literacy Instruction (Birth-12) from Niagara University. She also has additional certifications in adolescent education (5-9) and is completing an extension in science.

Miss Reeves' boyfriend's name is Eric, and they have two orange cats: George and Toulouse, as well as a terrier puppy named Roo - all with Disney inspirations for their names.

When she's not at school Miss Reeves works part time at an animal hospital where she's a veterinary assistant, and has been there for 10 years. Her favorite part of her job there is getting to interact with the animals when they come in. One of her lifelong goals is to adopt a french bulldog, as they're her favorite breed.

Her favorite foods are chicken wings and ice cream, she says she could eat either for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and never be tired of them.

Miss Reeves' teaching motto is adapted from the popular TV medical drama Grey's Anatomy.  "It's a beautiful day to change lives" - is something that is posted in her classroom and was on her graduation cap. It's a reminder that each day is a new day, and each day is an opportunity to make a positive impact on those around her.

Thank you Miss Reeves, for truly changing our students lives for the better each day!
