Meet Mrs. Witkowski

Mrs. Kristy Witkowski is our grades K, 1, 2, and 3 Science teacher here at St. Mary School Swormville. This is her 4th year teaching at SMS, but she has been teaching for 20 years. Mrs. Witkowski received her BS in Biochemistry from SUNY Stony Brook and MS in Adolescence Education in Biology and Chemistry from D'Youville College. She has had the privilege of teaching in several different schools in WNY, and has worked with children and young adults ranging in age from 3 - 18 years old.

Mrs. Witkowski has been married to her husband Jeff for 15 years. You may see Mr. Witkowski occasionally visit the school to do a lesson on drone technology with our 2nd grade Science students. They have 2 beautiful children: Samuel who is 8 years old and in 3rd grade here at SMS, and Eliza who is 18 months old. They currently have a cat named Solo and have recently started a freshwater aquarium with 8 fish! In the summer the Witkowski family also has several reptiles and amphibians in their outside terrarium.

Mrs. Witkowski's hobbies include reading, running, and spending time with my family and friends. She loves all Italian food and any type of bread. She was born and raised in Long Island , NY and is the 7th child in a family of 9 children! Her father was also a science teacher, so she always says her love and passion for teaching science is in her DNA.

As a science teacher, Mrs. Witkowski's favorite personal motto is "Don't Kill the Wonder." Her beautiful students also start their science class with the following prayer: "Thank you Jesus for the Miracle that is Me".

We thank you, Mrs. Witkowski, for teaching our students to appreciate, study, and investigate the wonder found in God's creation each day!
