Miss Holly

Miss Holly Peyser from our Montessori classroom is next in our #TeacherSpotlight series! Miss Holly started with us this September, and has quickly become an amazing addition to the Montessori Children's House. Let's get to know her better, Miss Holly shared the following bio and "favorite things" list with us....

I am passionate about early childhood education because of the amazing programs my children were involved in as pre-schoolers and am forever grateful. I have been teaching most of my life even though I was an International Business major in college and graduate school. As a college student I worked at the Early Childhood Development Center where faculty and staff children from Notre Dame/St. Mary's attended. Eventually I decided to get a Master’s in Education and  taught first grade in Virginia for several years. I was also a preschool aide/teacher at St. Greg's for five+ years. I began coaching figure skating at age 8 as a volunteer.

In addition, I have worked in the business world at several Fortune 500 companies and have taught International Business at a local college.  I have two boys and spent years watching them swim, play soccer, tennis and golf.

Favorite Hobby: Figure skating. I have skated since I was 2 1/2 years old and have always been involved in the sport!

Favorite Color: Pink

Favorite Cookie: Chocolate Chip

Favorite Type of Movie: Comedies

Fun Fact: I jumped rope everyday for a year straight when I was around 10 years old.

What I love about Montessori: Our room reminds me of the amazing children’s museums I have visited throughout the country.

Thank you Miss Holly for letting us get to know you a little better! You've been a great addition to St. Mary School's Montessori program!
