Now that summer's here, it's officially picnic season! Our students enjoyed what many say is the BEST day of the school year a few weeks ago, at our annual Home School Association (HSA) School Picnic.
Students competed together in their Faith Families for the glory & honor of winning the day's competitions. Between the leaky cup races, bounce house fun, various relays, hot dog lunch, yearbook signing session, & the traditional 8th graders vs. staff volleyball game, an amazing day was had by all!
An extra special surprise for our students came in the form of a HELICOPTER landing on the soccer field! Thank you to the Erie County Sheriff's Department for coming out and doing a wonderful presentation for our students - they learned a lot!
Congratulations to Mrs. Whipple's St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Faith Family for coming in 1st place overall, Mrs. Baker's St. Thomas Aquinas Faith Family that came in 2nd place, and Mrs. Wotaszek's St. Nicholas Faith Family members , who came in 3rd place.
After a delicious hot dog lunch provided by our HSA, the day wrapped up with yearbook signing in the gym, and the traditional 8th grade vs. the faculty & staff volleyball game! Our Class of 2026 had a little help from their coach - Father Peter. The 8th grade came out victorious over the teachers & staff despite their best efforts - way to go 8th grade!
A big thank you to the SMS parents & alumni who showed up to serve food, volunteer at the games, & referee, score, & help the teachers out in the volleyball game!
