Our students start back to classes one week from today, so we're starting off the school year by introducing you to some of our new teachers! Welcome to #TeacherSpotlightTuesdays.
This week we're getting to know Mrs. Julia Eberhardt, our new Middle School Social Studies & 8th grade homeroom teacher.
Name: Mrs. Eberhardt
Grades/Classes you teach at SMS: Middle School Social Studies and 8th Grade Homeroom
Experience: Mrs. Eberhardt graduated from Niagara University in 2013 with her bachelor's in 1-9 Social Studies Education with a minor in Literacy. After college she spent a few years working at the Aquarium of the Pacific and Rancho Los Cerritos Historic Site in Long Beach, California. In 2015, she earned her Multiple Subject California credential and taught for ten years in both public and Catholic settings. She is thrilled to be back in Buffalo and serving her hometown!
Spouse: She and her husband Ben have been married since 2015.
Hobbies/talents: She enjoys eating delicious food, reading good books, and being outside.
Favorite food: Pasta with marinara sauce!
Favorite quotes :
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are".- Theodore Roosevelt
Mrs. Eberhardt says she likes this quote because it reminds all of us to be resourceful and realistic.
She sometimes tell students (and herself):
"Give yourself the chance to do well".
That means follow the directions, ask for help when you need it, and advocate for yourself. Choose to help yourself succeed!
Anything else you’d like people to know? Mrs. Eberhardt is thankful for the chance to serve the St. Mary School community, and is looking forward to a great school year!
