Leaky cups, bounce houses, relays, hot dogs, bees, & volleyball were just part of the fun at our annual HSA School Picnic! Faith Families competed against each other for the glory & honor of winning the day's competitions. Congratulations to Mrs. Bishop's St. Joan of Arc Faith Family for coming in 3rd place overall, Mrs. Baker's St. Thomas Aquinas Faith Family came in 2nd place, and Mr. Dolan's St. Vincent de Paul Faith Family members were declared the winners of the 2025 HSA Picnic!
The day wrapped up with a pep rally hosted by 4th grader, Patrick H., dressed as our school mascot, & the traditional 8th grade vs. the faculty volleyball game! Our Class of 2025 had a little help from a friend - Fr. Peter! The 8th grade came out victorious over the teachers & staff despite their best efforts - way to go 8th grade!
A big thank you to the SMS alumni who showed up to serve food, volunteer at the games, & referee, score & announce the volleyball game!

Last weekend the SMS Class of 1974 held it's 50th reunion in conjunction with St. Mary's Picnic! The classmates convened Saturday evening after Mass at the Chowder Chase after-party, and shared memories & laughs, as well as a tour of their Alma-mater.
Mr. Jeffries, who taught the Class of '74 in third grade was also able to join the group! They visited his old classroom (now grade 2), and recounted where in the room each person's desk was. Other fond memories the group recalled on their tour included sitting in the lower elementary hallway on chairs to watch footage of the moon landing on a projector screen in 1969 when they were in grade 4, as well as getting in trouble for breaking windows in the lower level of the school while practicing hockey in the parking lot! They marveled at the middle school classrooms on the lower level, which was once entirely open with no walls and housed the cafeteria. đđđ¤
