Last weekend at St. Mary's Masses, members of our SMS Class of 2026 spoke about how SMS has impacted their lives. Let's hear what 8th grader, Grace W. had to say:

"Hi, I am Grace and I have been at St. Marys since 1st grade and have had such a great time growing up at this school. I have in the past 8 years played soccer, volleyball and also participated in the drama club program, and piano. There are many other activities to choose from at the school, so there’s something for everyone. We have small classes and caring teachers.

One of the most memorable memories I had at St.Mary’s came at Christmas time this year. I had the honor of helping put together and organize all the gifts for the St. Agnes service project that we have been doing for many years now, and got to go visit Sister Anna Helen. I had a very nice time hearing the story of how the St.Agnes service project started, and hear how our work will help others who are in need. She prayed with us and it was such a special experience. We also got to lead the whole project and it made me very proud to go to this school. Service is something that has always been a big part of our experience here. It has helped me see that being kind and remembering what you have is a very large blessing like Jesus has done for everyone. 

For high school I plan on attending Sacred Heart Academy, and I am very excited to start this new journey with all the life skills St. Mary's has taught me. I invite you to attend our Open House, Sun., Jan. 25th from 10:30 am-12:00 pm. Thank you."

Last weekend at St. Mary's Masses, members of our SMS Class of 2026 spoke about how SMS has impacted their lives. Let's hear what 8th grader, Gianna C. had to say:

"Hello, my name is Gianna, and I am currently an 8th grade student at St. Mary School Swormville. I plan to go to the Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart next year in the fall. I am a co-president of the 8th grade class of 2026. I have been here since I was in kindergarten, and I have enjoyed every second of it.
During my time at St. Mary’s, I have participated in activities such as basketball, soccer, swim, Girl Scouts, National Junior Honor Society, art club, and drama club. Our school offers many more activities other than these, such as track, baseball, volleyball, bowling, softball, and band.
St. Mary’s is a great school for kids in Pre-Kindergarten - 8th grade. We have small classes and caring teachers. The school teaches us how to be a better person. Our school pledge states: “We are St. Mary’s students, using our God-given talents to reach our full potential, academically, socially, and spiritually. We start each day anew, with joy and enthusiasm, committed to making our school, our community, and our world a better place.” This is a major part of our school values that we follow every day.
St. Mary’s has impacted my life in great ways. An example of this would be by teaching me my faith. St. Mary’s has given me a much better understanding of the Catholic faith that I would have never known about if I had not come here. Catholic faith is our number one priority here at St. Mary’s, and we show it every day through ways such as praying as a school 3-4 times a day, taking religion classes every day, and going to church every week.
Every Friday, we get together with different groups called Faith Families. They consist of 1-2 students per grade, and one teacher. You sit with your Faith Family every week at Mass, to get to know different students throughout the school better.
One of my favorite memories here at St. Mary’s is our school picnic. We get together with our faith families and play all kinds of outdoor games. We take the whole day for outdoor fun with all of our friends. It is one of the best parts of the school year!
As much as I will miss St. Mary’s next year, I feel well- prepared for the future and am excited to continue on my life journey.
