SMS families are taking some #Buzzworthy vacations this summer! The Kauppinen family made a stop in Iowa on their way to South Dakota to see Meredith Wilson's boyhood home! Members of our SMS drama club will recognize Meredith Wilson as the musician, playwright & composer best known for the book, words & music for "The Music Man", which our students put on as our Spring Musical this past year! The Kauppinens visited his home and sent these photos for you all to enjoy. 🐝💙🤍🎓 We're celebrating the SMS #Classof2025 all summer long! Salutatorian Lillian B. came to St. Mary’s in 4th grade and has been very active, participating in volleyball & drama club. She represented St. Mary’s at the Diocesan math competition this year winning 1st place in the Math Speed Round for the entire Diocese. She has also been involved in 8th grade service projects, is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and served as class co-president. Lilly received the virtue award in Art for kindness, effort in Spanish, achievement in PE, effort in Algebra, excellence in Religion, achievements in ELA, and is on the High Honor Roll. She also received the NYS Comptroller's Achievement Award, and the St. Mary’s Chapter of the Knights of Columbus Scholarship. Lilly will be attending Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart in the fall and is the recipient of the Alicia Saviola Hermsen Memorial Scholarship. SMS students love playing in the gaga ball pit that Collin Terrill built last year for his Eagle Scout project! The pit was dedicated at our HSA School Picnic a few weeks ago. The entire school, as well as representatives from Collin's top contributors to the project, the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary School HSA, were on hand for the dedication. Collin and his family are longtime St. Mary's parishioners, and his younger sister attends St. Mary School.
