This past week grades K-2 had a lot of fun & a break away from their routine lessons when they went on a "splendiferous" field trip! Our students laughed it up and enjoyed learning about what goes on behind the scenes at the Theatre of Youth. Fancy Nancy was a cute performance for the holiday season!

The trout in the grade 3-4-5 Science Lab tank are now officially fry and they are doing amazing. Most of them have left their feeding basket and are now in the main tank. Our students are enjoying having the opportunity to feed them!

Grade 2 has been comparing & contrasting the past with today! Students recently shared re-caps of interviews they held with an older friend or family member. They asked what school was like when that individual was in 2nd grade, & then had to think about how some things are the same, while others have certainly changed! They did a fantastic job presenting.

❄️🫎🎄🎁 SMS families- don't forget, our Merry Moose Shop opens tomorrow! Dec. 3rd, 4th & 5th, students will have the opportunity to pick out their own inexpensive, high quality gifts for family and friends during school hours.

The Merry Moose Shop will be set up in the school and run by parent and school volunteers. Gifts are priced with a child’s budget in mind, with most ranging from $1.00 - $6.00. A budgeting envelope and flyer came home in backpacks, allowing you and your child to be able to decide together how much you’d like to spend and on whom. Please return the envelope with shopping money in it in order for your child to be able to shop by Weds. Dec. 4th.

The “Merry Moose Shop” is designed to be a safe, child-centered environment where children can learn how to budget and spend wisely, while they also experience the joy of giving at this blessed time of year.

SMS students worked on "Drawing God" recently, & their drawings were hung at OLV National Shrine & Basilica for an exhibit on November 22 . The evening began with Eucharistic Adoration for families in the upper Basilica, followed by food, crafts, activities and the art show in the lower Basilica.
