🐰🌸 🐣🪺Happy Easter from our SMS Kindergartners! Before Easter break, the class had an Easter celebration - they enjoyed a snack based on the Easter Story from the Bible, completed a fun, festive craft, & even had a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny who left them a classroom full of bright & colorful Easter eggs to hunt for! It was a hip-hoppity kind of day!

🩷🐥 🩵 Peep... peep... it's almost Easter! Our Kindergartners recently used Peeps in a science based lesson. Students chose one descriptive word to characterize the outside & inside of a Peep using their five senses. They also designed their very own Peeps & filled in an "all about me" poster using their writing skills. What a sweet day!

💯🤓☀️ We had a fantastic 100th day of school this week! Students were invited to dress up as 100 year olds, or create a shirt featuring 100 items. We saw lots of creativity! Grades Pre-K through 2 enjoyed a fun filled day with "100" inspired activities, including making a necklace with 100 Froot Loops or Cheerios, completing a search and find of 100 Hershey Kisses, keeping a balloon in the air for 100 seconds, and more. This past week grades K-2 had a lot of fun & a break away from their routine lessons when they went on a "splendiferous" field trip! Our students laughed it up and enjoyed learning about what goes on behind the scenes at the Theatre of Youth. Fancy Nancy was a cute performance for the holiday season!

🍂🍁 Kindergarten investigated pumpkins last week & had some Fall fun! They used their 5 senses to dive deep into what a pumpkin sounds, looks, smells, & feels like. (They left the tasting for another day!) Students also measured pumpkin height using math manipulatives & graphed their favorite pumpkin face. After they got their hands all gooey, they got outside to enjoy the Fall weather with an oozing pumpkin experiment & a bit of playing in the Fall leaves.
