Our Montessori full day friends had so much fun this afternoon with story cubes! After rolling the dice, students worked together to create a fun & creative story. Here's what they came up with:
On a sunny day(☀️),

my house was on fire (👩🏼🚒),
I ran out, I saw a bat(🦇),
I was sad. (😔)
I went to a neighbors house(🚗),
met a new friend (👫),
and we cut our hair. (✂️)
We can’t wait to create more stories!

🐠 🌊 Montessori students are keeping things fresh and switched to ocean themed work today! Friends learned how to use this aquarium work by using a small net to scoop out "sea creatures". It looks like they had a sand-sational time!

Yesterday our students from Montessori Kindergarten - grade 8 took this sentiment to heart as they went on field trips to Play University, the BPO, Buffalo Museum of Science & Tift Nature Preserve!
🌎🍴Our staff & students have been hard at work preparing for tonight - SMS's first ever "Flavors of Fellowship"! Passport holders can take in the art, culture & of course FOOD from 10 different countries as they travel from classroom to classroom this evening - we can't wait!

One of the works in our Catechesis of the Good Shepherd curriculum in the Montessori classroom is the model altar. 📖 Yesterday our Montessori full day students finished reading "Matilda" as a class. This is their 2nd chapter book of the year. Before reading each day, Miss Krista & Miss Katie ask the students comprehension questions about what has been read so far. Today the class began watching Matilda the movie to see the book come to life, and really enjoyed it! Next up on the #Montessori reading list is Charlie and The Chocolate Factory!

Our Montessori Pre-K & Kindergarten students were getting the party started early this morning on Pajama Day! Their class party included decorating cookies, painting wooden nutcrackers, building with Legos, decorating cardboard gingerbread houses, playing in "sensory hot cocoa", building popsicle stick snowflakes, and making Christmas wreath bracelets. Looks like tons of hands-on, fine motor skill building fun!
