❄️🫎🎄🎁 SMS families- don't forget, our Merry Moose Shop opens tomorrow! Dec. 3rd, 4th & 5th, students will have the opportunity to pick out their own inexpensive, high quality gifts for family and friends during school hours.

The Merry Moose Shop will be set up in the school and run by parent and school volunteers. Gifts are priced with a child’s budget in mind, with most ranging from $1.00 - $6.00. A budgeting envelope and flyer came home in backpacks, allowing you and your child to be able to decide together how much you’d like to spend and on whom. Please return the envelope with shopping money in it in order for your child to be able to shop by Weds. Dec. 4th.

The “Merry Moose Shop” is designed to be a safe, child-centered environment where children can learn how to budget and spend wisely, while they also experience the joy of giving at this blessed time of year.

PLEASE NOTE: SHOPPING IS COMPLETELY OPTIONAL.

SMS students worked on "Drawing God" recently, & their drawings were hung at OLV National Shrine & Basilica for an exhibit on November 22 . The evening began with Eucharistic Adoration for families in the upper Basilica, followed by food, crafts, activities and the art show in the lower Basilica.

The Bees climbed from behind a 5 point deficit to take the lead early in the second half this Saturday afternoon, and held on to win 29-26, to start their season 1-0. We're getting excited for our HSA Thanksgiving luncheon tomorrow! Really it's a FEAST, lovingly prepared & served to our students & staff by volunteer parents & guardians. While they wait for lunch students make Thanksgiving crafts & play games with their Faith Families, like the board games our middle school students created!

Also, SMS families, tomorrow is the last day to contribute to our "Hope for the Homeless" food & supply drive. Homelessness can make daily living challenging. Everyday activities such as eating & maintaining basic hygiene can become difficult. As a school family we are endeavoring to help the homeless this Thanksgiving with their basic needs, so they have what they need AFTER the hot Thanksgiving meal of turkey and stuffing. Please review the chart below, and bring in any NEW item(s) you are able that have been assigned to your student's grade level. Thank you in advance for your support!

SERVICE is important to St. Mary School students! Our students have completed numerous service projects this fall, including raising money for Veterans’ HERO Boxes through a patriotic dress down day, & donating warm socks for the homeless.

This week our entire 8th grade class got together after school to bake cookies that will be distributed with the warm socks collected, through the UB Newman Center's Homeless Ministry. A special thank you to Mrs. Braunscheidel & all of our parent volunteers who helped with the baking!

We are so blessed to have wonderful staff & families here at SMS! Mrs. Robbins returned to in-person teaching this week, after suffering an injury late this past summer. We're so happy that she's on the mend and back with us now!
