🚒👨🏻🚒🔥 October is Fire Safety month and our students in K-5 participated in the Swormville Fire Company's annual poster contest. This year's theme focused on the dangers of lithium ion batteries. Prizes will be awarded at the Swormville Fire Open House this Sat. Congratulations to all!

In drier weather Monday evening, the JV team defeated Nardin 12-5, in part thanks to a Grand Slam from 6th grader Will K.! Logan S. (grade 5) singled scoring one run, Will drew a walk scoring an additional run, and Greyson B. (grade 5) was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. Next up for the JV team is a game against St. Chris on Weds.

Our 4th grade students worked with the Ozobots in Makerspace this week! These small, programmable robots teach students coding & robotics through hands-on activities. Users interact with the robot on-screen to direct its movement & actions, all the while learning fundamental coding principles, computational thinking, & STREAM skills. These activities introduce our students to concepts like sequences, logic, problem-solving, & debugging.

🎨 Our Montessori students were introduced to some exciting new work this week that will help them learn their colors! In a "Color Tablet Survey", one student glues colored construction paper squares to a piece of paper, then goes around the room to ask the others what their favorite color is. In the final step of the work, teachers help the students count the tally marks to see which colors receive the most votes.
