Don't forget... the Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is tonight at 6 pm!

We celebrated our First Communicants at last Friday's school Mass! Congratulations to all of our third graders who worked hard preparing to receive the sacrament, may you always keep Jesus in your hearts! See more photos of the Mass & reception here: https://tinyurl.com/2ns25z6t

Tomorrow our chicks go back to the farm. Montessori enjoyed watching the chicks grow and their little "chirps" will be missed! We will especially miss our yellow chick who was our only egg to hatch! đŁ

đĽOften called the birthday of the Church, we celebrated Pentecost this weekend! Pentecost is the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles like tongues of fire. Mrs. Bishop's grade 3 Religion class completed "Pentecost Portraits" in celebration of the liturgical feast day.
We celebrate Pentecost to remember that God is not distant. The Holy Spirit is God's gift of presence-living within us, guiding us, comforting us, & empowering us. In a world that can feel chaotic and weary, Pentecost reminds us that we are not alone. The Spirit is moving, & there is always more grace to receive!

The 3rd and 4th graders went out with a glow! To celebrate the last full Friday of the school year, our amazing students enjoyed a Math & ELA station glow party to review for final exams! They even created their own custom t-shirts and had classmates sign them as keepsakes!

First graders made "Spirit Streamers" after learning about Pentecost. They enjoyed making wind and emulating the tongues of fire over their heads!

These two pals gave Mrs. D'Angelo a break this week when they took on the duties of "Principal for the Day"! Thank you to the Huber family for bidding on & winning this experience for their sons in our 2025 Spring for Success Silent Auction!
The "Principals Huber" started their day greeting students, then enjoyed breakfast from Tim Horton's before completing some teacher observations. After lunch from Campobello's, they planned & executed a successful fire drill, did the PM announcements, & possibly most importantly, they made the following decree... There will be a FREE DRESS DOWN DAY for ALL STUDENTS on TUESDAY JUNE 10th! Thank you Principals Huber!

đThank you to the Hemmingson family for bidding on and winning the "Bee the Bee" for a day experience with Mrs. Kisailus in our 2025 "Spring for Success" Silent Auction! Patrick wore our mascot costume around school today, stopped in for a few classroom visits, and also wrote and assisted in the production of this short video! He had some sweet sentiments to share with his fellow students to help them "bee" their best and inspire some school spirit! Click here to watch his video: https://youtu.be/-A_D_3d31vc

Mrs. Baker's 4th graders celebrated the completion of their final novel for the school year, "Holes" with an experience at their very own version of Camp Green Lake. The day was made extra special by taking math class outside, & by making "Sploosh Jars". The discovery & consumption of "Sploosh" is a significant moment in the plot, showcasing the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the characters.

We had some new faces in the gym, in health class, & lunch monitoring this week, as Mr. Reeds had two guest students as "P.E. Teacher for a Day"! Thank you to the Ferrelli & Valentine families who bid on & won this experience for their students in our #SpringforSuccess Silent Auction this past April. The "new teachers" got to experience everything from explaining the rules of a game & passing out pinnies, to proctoring a test in middle school, & assisting our littlest "Bees" at lunch!

đâ˝ď¸ JV SOCCER UPDATES:
6/1/25: The SMS JV Bees put the cherry on top of their season this past Sunday with a 7-0 win over St. Stephen's. The absence of several travel players led the JV Bees to call up some up-and-coming SMS 3/4 players including Xavier, Henry, Luke, Elyse, and Cora; and they did not disappoint! Xavier and Grayson shared goal-tending duties, locking down the net against a fierce opponent. Michaela spearheaded the Beesâ defensive efforts with fast feet and huge kicks to clear the ball. Elyse had big plays on all sides of the field throughout the game and generated a huge cheer with a phenomenal second half goal. Josh left the crowd (and himself) in disbelief with a goal that seemed to turn towards the goal in mid-air. Gabe, Luca, and Dawit had big goals as well. The season ends with a 6-1 record and 13 pounds of uneaten oranges at coachâs house!
5/22/25: The SMS JV Bees did it again, defending home field with an 8-2 victory over St. Greg's, while covered head-to-toe in mud. Navigating puddles and a constant downpour, Eli scored 5 goals for the Bees! Gabe and Nico helped with additional goals to bolster a solid lead. Jack showed his tenacity with incredible scoring efforts, only to have his goal called off for an off-sides penalty. Rain-check Jack! SMS goalie David even tried to score a goal, dribbling from his net through a flurry of defenders, only to miss the net in a brave attempt to solidify his place in the history books! The Bee defense led by Michaela, Grayson, and Francesca protected the honeycomb and showed great stamina in repelling the Cougars. Great job Bees!

Our Grade 1 & 2 Bees ended their soccer season this past Sunday with another rainy afternoon, made sweeter by ice cream to celebrate afterwards! Congrats to our littlest soccer playing Bees!

Mrs. Wojtaszek's 2nd grade made bird feeder prototypes yesterday. They also needed to be able to explain how they would keep the cats away. They worked hard, collaborated and came up with some amazing creations!
