Grades 4 & 5 had such a great time at the Buffalo Museum of Science last week! Students worked in teams to build bridges strong enough to hold rocks, & had so much fun exploring all of the exhibits. It was an amazing day! 😊

⚽️🐝 End-of-season soccer recaps incoming! Coach Costello's JV squad won their game against St. John the Baptist last Thurs., 9-3. Goals were scored by Joe M. (4), Josh Z. (3), Logan S. (1), and Francesca M. (1). Key contributors to the offense with assists included Emma M., Julia C., and Luke C., while Ryan C., Grace G., Isaac C., & Hannah P. controlled the mid-field driving the team to a strong victory!

The Teen or Seguin Board is a classic math material used to teach children the names and quantities of numbers 11 through 19. By sliding number cards over the zero on a printed '10', children learn how tens & units combine. The Teen Board develops place value understanding, helps concrete-to-abstract transition, promotes self-correction, & encourages tactile learning.

💛🩵🩷 Thank you to the Moleski family for bidding on the “Kindergarten Glow Party” experience in our recent Magnificat Silent Auction! Miss Gon's Kindergartners wore their neon colors to school yesterday & enjoyed an afternoon of painting under black-lights & watching those neon colors GLOW! The paintings they created were brought home as a great Kindergarten memory. They also had a glow stick dance party & enjoyed a special treat chosen by the winning student - cupcakes!

🫏⛴️ This quote poetically describes how the opening of the 360-mile waterway in 1825 served as a catalyst for our country. The canal instantly transformed the United States by connecting the East Coast to the Great Lakes, igniting explosive economic growth.

Our grade 4 & 5 students saw first hand this week how the Erie Canal spurred western settlement on their field trip to the Lockport Locks. Students have been learning about geography, economics & trade, innovation & engineering, & primary sources through their studies of the canal in Social Studies.
