Everyone has a Guardian Angel and none of us has to walk through the trials and sufferings of this life alone, because we each have a special friend that is ours alone. No one before us had our specific Guardian Angel, and no one after us will have the same one ever again. Many Saints have even seen their Guardian Angels and spoken with them.
There are many prayers we can say to our Guardian Angel. The most traditional one is the Guardian Angel prayer;
“Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits here, ever this day/night be at my side to light, to guard, to rule, and guide."
We should pray often to our Guardian Angel for guidance and protection. They want to help us, but we have to be open to allowing them to work in our lives.

🌡️🔍 Grade 2 learned about thermometers this past week and watched as water went from solid ice to boiling at 100 degrees Celsius. The students observed many things using magnifying glasses as well!

🐴🍂 Our K, 1, & 2 students had some fall fun down on the farm yesterday! They picked pumpkins, went on wagon and pony rides, and met and learned all about tons of cute animals.
They even were introduced to Mrs. Marilyn Kelkenberg, Akron Acres co-owner and St. Mary School alumnus! Marilyn shared some fond memories of her days at SMS, and we're sure this field trip to the farm will become a wonderful memory in the minds of our current students. Thank you Marilyn!

Girls Varsity Volleyball continued this week with a triple match against St. Greg's on Tuesday night in the SMS gym. Our girls had a strong showing and pulled out the win in the last match! Our Lady Bees stayed in it until the end, playing a total of eight sets - great job! Their next game is Friday, Oct. 3rd at 6pm at Christ the King.

St Mary’s/Nativity swim team had their first meet this past weekend at Grand Island HS against a combined team. Our swimmers swam fast and had a great time cheering each other on and conquering fears.

The Church can be both seen on earth and felt in our hearts. The Church has four important qualities, or marks:
The Church is ONE. We have one Lord and we share one faith. We receive one life in the Holy Spirit.
The Church is HOLY. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are holy. In the sacraments, we receive all we need to make us holy.
The Church is CATHOLIC. Catholic means universal. Jesus told the apostles to teach all nations. The Church reaches out to all.
The Church is APOSTOLIC. Jesus founded the Church with the apostles. The pope and bishops continue their mission today.
