Before Christmas break our Home School Association (HSA) treated our priests & all school staff to a wonderful Christmas luncheon at Banchetti's. This annual tradition in which staff come together to share a meal with our HSA board members , while new staff members share what they love about SMS, has become a highlight of the season for many of us. Thank you HSA - we are blessed to have an involved, caring parent community at our school, as well as some rock-star teachers & staff, if we do say so ourselves! Mrs. Hammond's #Spanish students did a gallery walk last week to read elf biographies. They then had to create their own elf and describe him/her, check out their great work! #middleschool #foreignlanguage #santasElves

Just before #ChristmasBreak, Mr. Ted Luckett did a very special Christmas scavenger hunt with our entire school! Students broke up into their #faithfamilies & searched for clues around the gym, using QR codes to answer questions about Christmas. Activities included singing portions of Christmas songs, naming all #ThreeKings, word searches, & more to uncover the true message of the season- that #Jesus is born for us!

I'm addition to celebrating "Grinch Day" last Thurs., 4th grade enjoyed learning about Colonial Times through collaborative learning centers. They also played Colonial games and "churned" butter!
