Quinn started at SMS in middle school, & participated on our swim & basketball teams, as well as in early AM intramurals. She was an active school volunteer, participating in service projects & giving tours during Open Houses. She also served as the class Treasurer. Quinn received the following awards at graduation: the NYS Attorney General Triple "C" Award, the President's Award for Academic Achievement, the Sister Sheila Ann Burke Memorial Award, awards for Improvement in Science, Technology & Reading, awards for Effort in Math & Religion, & she was also on the Merit Roll. Quinn will attend Lockport High School this fall.

Braeden was on the Merit Roll & will attend Canisius High School in September.

Noah has spent his entire educational career thus far at St. Mary School, beginning in Montessori! He served as co-president for his 8th grade class, and was very active on our sports teams including swim, baseball, basketball, track, soccer and early morning intramurals. He actively participated in the 8th grade and school service projects.
Noah received awards for Achievement in PE, and Effort in Social Studies, made the Merit Roll, and received the President's Award for Academic Achievement. He will be attending Canisius High School in the fall.

Luly left St. Mary’s following her 5th grade year and lived in Africa until recently! She rejoined her class in April of this year and didn’t skip a beat. She participated in the remaining service projects and with her Faith Family. Luly received awards for Excellence in Spanish, Effort in Living Environment, Excellence in PE, Excellence in Technology, Excellence in ELA and was on the High Honor Roll. She has been accepted to Sacred Heart Academy where she will be attending in the fall.

Brendan D. joined us at St. Mary’s in the 1st grade. During his time at St. Mary’s he was involved in art and chess clubs, and won 5th place at the Diocesan Chess Tournament. Brendan received 1st place this year from the Knights of Columbus for his Catholic Citizenship essay, and participated in the 8th grade service projects. He also participated in basketball, soccer, and the Diocesan math competition on the St. Mary’s math team. Brendan received awards for effort in Science, improvement in Algebra, excellence in PE, effort in Science, and Second Honors.
Brendan received the NYS Attorney General Triple "C" Award, the St. Mary’s Chapter of the Knights of Columbus Scholarship, and the 2025 Principal's Award. The Principal's Award is given to a student who stands out through their years at SMS by growing in quiet strength and humble discipleship, an individual of constant compassion, effort, goodwill, humor, and deep faith, who serves others and is talented academically. Brendan is proud to be attending Canisius High School this fall.

Manny first joined us in 5th grade. Manny participated in morning intramurals and the after school chess club. He received the Diocesan Character Ed Award for being welcoming this year, as nominated by his class, and enjoyed participating and helping to plan school service projects. Manny received the virtue award from Mr. Dolan for Zeal, Improvement in AIS math, excellence in PE, effort in Math, improvement in Religion, and is on the Merit Roll.
Manny also received a special award at graduation, the Charism of Mary Award, for showing the gifts of Mary our Mother. As the mother of Jesus, Mary lived her life with forgetfulness of self so that the grace of God could emerge through all she did. Manny serves other students consistently, helping others without being asked and without seeking any recognition. Manny will attend Canisius High School this fall, keep up the great work!

Salutatorian Lillian B. came to St. Mary’s in 4th grade and has been very active, participating in volleyball & drama club. She represented St. Mary’s at the Diocesan math competition this year winning 1st place in the Math Speed Round for the entire Diocese.
She has also been involved in 8th grade service projects, is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, and served as class co-president. Lilly received the virtue award in Art for kindness, effort in Spanish, achievement in PE, effort in Algebra, excellence in Religion, achievements in ELA, and is on the High Honor Roll. She also received the NYS Comptroller's Achievement Award, and the St. Mary’s Chapter of the Knights of Columbus Scholarship.
Lilly will be attending Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart in the fall and is the recipient of the Alicia Saviola Hermsen Memorial Scholarship. Congratulations Lily - we know you will go far!

Leaky cups, bounce houses, relays, hot dogs, bees, & volleyball were just part of the fun at our annual HSA School Picnic! Faith Families competed against each other for the glory & honor of winning the day's competitions. Congratulations to Mrs. Bishop's St. Joan of Arc Faith Family for coming in 3rd place overall, Mrs. Baker's St. Thomas Aquinas Faith Family came in 2nd place, and Mr. Dolan's St. Vincent de Paul Faith Family members were declared the winners of the 2025 HSA Picnic!
The day wrapped up with a pep rally hosted by 4th grader, Patrick H., dressed as our school mascot, & the traditional 8th grade vs. the faculty volleyball game! Our Class of 2025 had a little help from a friend - Fr. Peter! The 8th grade came out victorious over the teachers & staff despite their best efforts - way to go 8th grade!
A big thank you to the SMS alumni who showed up to serve food, volunteer at the games, & referee, score & announce the volleyball game!

We have #Buzzworthy news to share about a recent alumna's HIGH achievement!
Teagen T. (SMS Class of 2024) qualified for states in the high jump for track with Buffalo Academy of the Sacred Heart, and competed on May 24th in NYC. She came in 3rd place overall and reached a personal record of 4’6”! She has also set the record for her school and her team in high jump as only a freshman. Congratulations Teagen!

We have so many wonderful extracurricular activities here at SMS through our school itself, as well as outside organizations! Boy Scout & Girl Scout troops based out of St. Mary's held their annual Scout Mass this weekend, and it was wonderful to see such a great turn out of current students as well as alumni!
Daisy & Brownie level Girl Scouts also hosted a cookie booth at St. Teresa's in Akron this weekend, and will be at St. Mary's on Sat. March 29th & Sun. March 30th selling cookies after Masses as well - please support our Scouts in their fundraising endeavors!
