Congratulations to our SMS students who received a virtue award for the month of March today! Students were recognized for displaying the virtue of meekness. “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth” (Matthew 5:5)

Before Easter Recess, SMS 4th and 5th graders took a field trip to the Herschell Carousel Factory Museum in North Tonawanda. Students were able to see a historical side of STEM while at the museum, learning about everything from a band organ’s use of binary coding, to the network of simple machines that make up a 1916 carousel!

SMS students enjoyed a SNOWBALL FIGHT on this sunny, 65 degree day! Grades K and 4 won the opportunity to face all of our priests & principal in a snowball free-for-all by selling the most "Snow Me the Money" tickets per student for our HSA cash raffle this winter. Congrats!

It is the high point in the liturgical year. The vigil begins in darkness (usually outside) and the long procession of candlelight that enlivens the church reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world who has conquered all darkness and death. The Paschal candle that is lit at the Easter Vigil will remain in the church throughout the year as a sign of Christ’s death and resurrection. Family Faith Activity: During the day on Holy Saturday, spend some time as a family talking about the Paschal Mystery — Jesus’ crucifixion, death and resurrection. Take a walk around your neighborhood looking for signs of new life in springtime. Talk about how Jesus rising to new life is truly transformative and life-changing.
